Govt mulls pollution-free zone near Golden Temple

Chandigarh: The Punjab government is contemplating setting up a pollution-free zone around the Golden Temple to prevent the corrosion of the gold plate.

Environment minister Bikram Singh Majithia said the Punjab Pollution Control Board had been asked to demarcate the zone around the shrine that would also be made smoke-free and no vehicle would be allowed there.
