World Sikh News Special Edition released

In a proud moment for the World Sikh News and the Amritsar Times, both publications of the Amritsar Publications and Media Group, the entire Punjab Government top brass led by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal was present on stage when the Special Editions dedicated to the Non-Resident Punjabis' conclave were released at the Punjabi NRI Sammelan.

The World Sikh News Special Edition, a highly design-intensive edition, sought to engage with the gamut of issues and concerns of the NRPs and advocated a discussion on ethnography of transnational communities besides taking up many aspects of ethnocentricity. The Special Edition, brought out under the watch of its Editor, Jagmohan Singh, showcased the work being done by the WSN for sometime now.

Group editor Daljit Singh Sra was present as Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, ruling Akali Dal acting president Sukhbir Singh Badal, Punjab ministers Capt Kanwaljit Singh and Bikramjit Singh Majithia, MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa, and BJP minister Manoranjan Kalia released the Special Editions of the WSN and Amritsar Times.

Except for a government souvenir of the Punjabi NRI Sammelan, no other publication was released. It goes to the credibility of the WSN and AT publications that the Chief Minister and his colleagues agreed to release the Special Edition despite the fact that they are often at the receiving end of the group's editorial stance. The World Sikh News, while seeking to become part of the engaged debate about NRPs, vows to continue fearlessly and fiercely, its efforts to reflect the Sikh perspective in the larger matrix of Sarbat Da Bhala. Because The Truth Needs To Be Told.
