Kar Sewa at Darshni Deodi begins
WSN Network  

SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar inaugurating the kar sewa of Darshani Deori at Harmandar Sahib in Amritsar last Wednesday. It has been decided to preserve signs of damage the structure sustained during Operation Bluestar.

A devout Sikhs has borne the entire cost of restoration amounting to Rs 55 lakh. Earlier, the kar sewa by some babas was stopped amid charges that conservation norms were being violated. Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh, Harmandar Sahib Head Granthi Giani Jaswinder Singh and Deputy Commissioner Kahan Singh Pannu were among those present when the latest kar sewa began.
