Wheel to spin in Washington DC
WSN Network
WASHINGTON:
The Spinning Wheel Film Festival moves to Washington DC. A
celebration of films by and about Sikhs will be on at The Kennedy
Center on April 6 and 7, a two day you-can't-afford-to-miss moment
in cinematic history about a people who comprise the world's
youngest and fifth largest religion. The film-fest showcases shorts,
documentaries, archival and historical footage, narrative and
full-length feature films and brings together filmmakers, film
students, filmgoers and critics.
It engages in a discussion that promotes a greater awareness and
understanding of the history, traditions and stories of the Sikh
community and encourages artists to create works that touch on the
Sikh experience, and inspires a new generation of Sikhs to pursue
careers in the arts.
