Sikhs in Malaysia set up biz network
WSN Network
Kuala Lumpur: A group of Sikh
businessmen in Malaysia has set up a Network of International Sikh
Entrepreneurs. Its chairman, Mohan Singh, has said that NISE will
enable Sikh businessmen worldwide, especially the younger
generation, to work together in this age of globalisation.
'Sikh business individuals have created success stories all over the
world, from Australia to America. We in Malaysia are strategically
positioned to bring East and West together for mutual benefit,'
media reports quoted Sidhu as saying.
'We plan to create a platform to exchange business information and
generate opportunities among members as well for members to promote
their products and services,' a report in the Malaysia Star quoted
Sidhu as saying.
He said NISE was planning to set up centres all over Malaysia and is
expected to have at least six of them within this year. 'We also
plan to organise a Global Sikh Entrepreneurs Conference this year,'
he said.
'Our position in relation to emerging superpowers China and India
has also motivated us to encourage our members to explore
possibilities,' another report in the Edge Daily quoted Sidhu as
saying.
There are close to 100,000 Sikhs in Malaysia, a country of 24
million people.
