Fremont Gurdwara
launches Fund Raising drive on June 7
WSN Network
FREMONT: Sikh sangat
has been displaying a great deal of enthusiasm for collecting funds
for Gurdwara Sahib, Fremont. The Fund Raising shall be carried out
from June 7, 10 am to 8 pm and shall be broadcast on Punjabi radio
Geet Sangeet. The broadcast will feature names of all
philanthropists who donate for the worthy cause.
The management of
the Gurdwara Fremont has also offered that if any person is desirous
of extending a loan for a period of six months or more to Gurdwara
Fremont, the management will do all paperwork and shall provide
signed legal documents. In fact, such a worthy cause has already
taken off with Sardar Balkar Singh Sangha of Union City extending a
promise of one lakh dollars without any interest to Gurdwara Sahib.
Similarly, Sardar
Piara Singh Dhami and his two sons Baljinder Singh Dhami and
Ravinder Singh Dhami have also committed to give $50,000 to Gurdwara
Sahib sans any interest.
Dr. Pritpal Singh,
coordinator of American Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee (AGPC) who has
been working ceaselessly for gurdwaras in Bangladesh, Afghanistan
and Pakistan, has also made a commitment of $ 1 lakh for the worthy
cause.
Mohinder Singh Johl,
who has been involved with the Gurdwara for nearly a quarter century
and also remained at one time a member of the Supreme Council, has
given $2500 for building fund.
This Fund Raising
has been undertaken for the canopy of the Gurughar and the ongoing
project. While the sangat is being beseeched for this cause, the
gurdwara management has also asked nearly 10,000 voters of seven
counties to lend a hand with daswandh.
The Gurdwara is also
organizing a seminar on June 7 at 11 am in connection with the
Ghallughara Divas. It will feature eminent Sikh scholars.
