Gala to raise funds for needy
students in Punjab

WASHINGTON:
On
April 6, 2008, Sikh Human Development Foundation (SHDF) is hosting a
gala Dinner event at the Hotel Sheraton, Vienna, VA., to raise funds
for needy students in Punjab and other Northern Indian states.
Satinder Kaur Satti, a renowned TV artist and a Punjabi singer and
ETC Punjabi Channel’s Anchor from Punjab, will be the star
attraction. In addition, Gurvindra Singh Suri, a successful
entrepreneur from Dallas, TX, will be the Chief guest. Over 600
guests from
Washington
metropolitan area as well as neighboring areas are expected to
attend. Donation are $100 per person or table of ten for $800.00.
Founded in 1999,
this foundation is assisting financially disadvantaged students
pursuing professional degree courses. It has awarded over 800
scholarships since year 2000.
Dedicated to
poverty alleviation, SHDF is perhaps the only Sikh organization
which grants scholarships to needy students for higher education in
Punjab.
