Sikhcess comes to Fremont
WSN Network
FREMONT:
Sikhcess, a worldwide community service based organization, unveiled
definitive plans to feed the homeless worldwide through its 'Feed
the Homeless' campaign on June 14, 2008.
In the bay area,
meals for the homeless were prepared at the Fremont Gurdwara. The
sangat provided generous donations to allow the volunteers of
Sikhcess to prepare 1400 meals that were distributed at 14 shelter
locations throughout
San Francisco
and Oakland. ‘It’s wonderful to participate in an organization
that allows the youth of the Gurdwara to express their commitment to
Seva by feeding those that are less fortunate. I am humbled by
everyone’s genorosity, said Nitasha Lal, Sikhcess City Executive for
San Francisco and Oakland. In addition to preparing and delivering
meals, the volunteers spent time at each shelter location to
interact with residents.
"Sikhcess is
growing at an astounding pace, which is directly attributable to the
genuine desire of our volunteers to help those in need, a founding
principle of the Sikh faith," stated Mr. Amit Singh, Executive
Director of Sikhcess. "I am deeply moved by the outpouring of love
and support from people of all backgrounds to make a difference, as
we have already fed over 150,000 homeless and needy worldwide,
provided blankets and jackets to over 15,000 in freezing conditions,
and worked directly to decrease crime in inner cities."
Inquiries for
donations of food and supplies for distribution to the homeless
should be directed to Donations@Sikhcess.com or to Mr. Amit Singh at
