SPRINGFIELD:  After a meritorious 6 years of service, Sadhu Singh Rikhiraj was felicitated by the American Council of Engineering Companies with the Community Service Award at a simple ceremony here on 12 June for leaderhip activities within the community.

For six years, Sadhu Singh has relentlessly worked for the Sikh Religious Society, Palatine, as executive secretary and president of the Gurdwara.  He has been instrumental in the construction of the Gurdwara and providing leadership to the community keeping the spirit of Sikhi alive and strong. Sadhu Singh is well-known for his humility and selfless service.

Starting from a humble background in village Dosanjh, near Moga, Sadhu Singh was a bright student of Khalsa High School, Moga.  After obtaining a diploma in civil engineering fromt the prestigious Thapal Polytechnic College at Patiala, Sadhu Singh travelled to Canada for further studies and the bachelors degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Ottawa.
