Dal Khalsa tells Akalis to stop VCs’ witch hunt
WSN Network

AMRITSAR: Dal Khalsa has taken exception to Akali Dal leadership politicizing the institutions of higher education in the state. In a statement, party leaders Kanwar Pal Singh and Harchranjit Singh said the post of the Vice-chancellor has been totally politicized and has become a subject to the diktats of politicians. They called for an end to the practice of witch-hunting of VC’s and termed the ongoing “crusade” to remove the incumbent VC of GNDU Dr Jairup Singh Sekhon as “immoral and unethical”. The Dal Khalsa demanded a complete re-look at the very procedures by which a vice-chancellor is appointed.

“The University Grants Commission must formulate guidelines to be followed by the Chancellors of the universities for the appointment and removal of the V-C,” it said.
