WSN Network

Washington D.C.: A Sikh graduate student at Texas A & M University was viciously attacked by an unknown assailantl in Bryan, Texas, April 10. The attack knocked the student's turban off his head, reports Asian Week.

The Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund (SALDEF) filed formal complaints with the Bryan Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Law officials classified the attack as a hate crime. SALDEF says it is monitoring the progress of the investigation and is ensuring that the crime is prosecuted as a hate crime.
