Punjabi NRI sammelan in January

Chandigarh: The government of Punjab will host an international Punjabi NRI sammelan in Chandigarh and Jalandhar from January 5 to 6, 2008. This decision was taken at a meeting held by Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal. A committee has also been constituted to identify prominent NRIs to be honored at the meet.

The NRI Sabha, Jalandhar, will also be associated with the programme. Giving this information, Harcharan Bains, media adviser to the chief minister, said that the event would be used as the beginning of a regular process of interaction between the state government and NRI Punjabis in the years to come.
