‘Bhai Daljit Singh not part of it’

CHANDIGARH: Shiromani Akali Dal(Panch Pardhani) has said it has nothing whatsoever to do  with a 20-member committee set up by some Sikh intellectuals on their own to resolve the imbroglio caused by Takht Patna Sahib jathedat Iqbal Singh’s action of excommunicating Prof Darshan Singh. 

In a statement, the party said such actions cannot be undertaken by any Jathedar on his own free  will and should be left to Akal Takht only. Such actions should, in fact, be left to Sarbat Khalsa. It  said the 20 member panel formed by some at a meeting in Jalandhar includes the name of party  chief Bhai Daljit Singh but neither the party nor its president were consulted or have anything to  do with it.
