Gurdwara turns 75

Ahmedabad: Gurdwaras
all across India are getting into the celebration mode. To celebrate
the Word as the Guru by observing the Tercentenary of Guru Granth
Sahib in October 2008, the Gurdwara Singh Sabha in Ahmedabad will be
observing its Platinum Jubilee this week. This Gurdwara situated in
the heart of the city has been the nodal point for Sikhs not only in
the city but the state of Gujarat too. The Organisation has been
actively participating in all Panthic programmes and humanitarian
activities for welfare of humanity. After the November 1984 carnage,
this Gurdwara rendered ample support to families of victims.
The celebrations
beginning on 22 February will see the participation of the president
of SGPC, S. Avtar Singh, President SGPC Ex- Jathedar Sri Akal Takht
and Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Singh Sahib Manjit Singh and many Raagi
Jathas.
The programme
celebrations will include Singh Sabha Sammelan, Bhujangi Sammelan,
Istri Sammelan, Turban Tying Competition Free Medical Check-up Camp
and a Blood Donation Camp.
