IMA cadet gets bail in Dera firing case
WSN Network

MUMBAI: The Bombay High Court on Monday released on bail an Indian Military Academy (IMA) cadet who is an accused in a case related to the firing on Sikh protesters by followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect.

Justice V K Tahilramani granted bail to Tarun Chawla (22), who was part of the contingent accompanying the Dera chief on that day (June 20). Chawla was part of the group surrounding Dera chief Baba Ram Rahim when his bodyguards killed one by opening fire on Sikh protesters. Chawla was arrested along with 12 others in the case. Following the death of one person at a mall in Mulund on June 20, Sikh protesters had taken to the streets to protest the killing.
