IMA cadet gets bail in Dera firing
case

MUMBAI: The
Bombay High Court on Monday released on bail an Indian Military
Academy (IMA) cadet who is an accused in a case related to the
firing on Sikh protesters by followers of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect.

Tahilramani granted bail to Tarun Chawla (22), who was part of the
contingent accompanying the Dera chief on that day (June 20). Chawla
was part of the group surrounding Dera chief Baba Ram Rahim when his
bodyguards killed one by opening fire on Sikh protesters. Chawla was
arrested along with 12 others in the case. Following the death of
one person at a mall in Mulund on June 20, Sikh protesters had taken
to the streets to protest the killing.
