At 28, Bhullar is youngest Canadian minister
WSN Network

TORONTO: Calgary law student Manmeet Bhullar, 28, was appointed parliamentary assistant for advanced education and technology in the Canadian province of Alberta and thus became the country's youngest minister. Raj Sherman, another Indo-Canadian who won the Edmonton-Meadowlark seat for the ruling Tory party, was sworn in as parliamentary assistant for health and wellness.

Both Indo-Canadians were from among the record five who won the March 3 assembly elections in Alberta. Both were sworn in Edmonton on Thursday when the new Tory government under Premier Ed Stelmach took oath for the new fouryear term. Bhullar said he was looking forward to visiting India. Alberta, an oil rich region, has about 80,000 Indo-Canadians.
