SACREMENTO:
Amidst a galaxy of Punjabi litterateurs from all over the world, the
Punjabi Sath Giani Hira Singh award would be conferred on the
Punjabi Sahit Sabha
California
for its services towards propagation of the Punjabi language at Yuba
City on 6th July.
According to the
press statement of the Sabha released by its president, Harbans
Singh Jagiasu, among others Dr. Swaraj Singh Seattle, Prof.
Gurbhajan Singh Gill from Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana,
Dr. Suhinderbir Singh from Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Harpal
Singh from Sikh National College Banga, famous poet Eng. Karamjit
Singh, Tarlochan Singh Dopalpur and others who have served the cause
of Punjabi would attend the ceremony.
All participants
would deliberate upon the status of Punjabi language and suggest
measures to improve the reach of the language. The organisers have
appealed to all people who love the Punjabi language to attend a
function to be held at Star India Restaurant,
